Job DescriptionWe are currently hiring a Travel Nurse RN for our Med Surg / Telemetry department in Gig Harbor, Washington. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing high-quality patient care in an acute setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs and heart rhythms.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data to detect any irregularities.
- Assess physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
- Medication Administration and Management:
- Administer prescribed medications while ensuring proper dosing and timing.
- Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
- Provide pain management interventions.
- Monitor patients with telemetry units to assess heart rate and rhythm.
- Assist in the interpretation of telemetry readings.
- Maintain and troubleshoot telemetry equipment.
- Provide post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Perform dressing changes and assess for signs of infection.
- Administer treatments to manage or prevent complications.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management.
- Offer guidance on managing chronic conditions.
- Provide education on fall prevention and nutrition.
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to implement and adjust patient care plans.
- Participate in daily rounds to discuss patient progress and care needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care to patients.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
- Provide immediate interventions, including CPR and ACLS.
- Manage patients who experience acute changes in their condition.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry nursing.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
