Job OverviewThe Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indian are seeking a dedicated Childcare Worker to support the growth and development of young children in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement daily educational activities and assist in planning engaging experiences for children.
- Establish and maintain a safe and developmentally suitable classroom atmosphere, ensuring proper organization of materials.
- Complete necessary documentation and follow-up tasks related to child development.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow staff members to address the needs of each child.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, completing a minimum of 15 hours annually.
- Maintain certifications in First Aid/CPR and Food Handling.
- Fulfill annual training requirements concerning health, safety, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of six months of experience in a structured early childhood education environment (such as preschool, Head Start, Kindergarten, or daycare) with demonstrated competency in the role – OR – successful completion of a related Work Experience placement in early childhood education, showcasing relevant skills – OR – two years of experience managing in-home childcare with positive employment and character references.
- Ability to engage effectively with families.
- Utilize a constructive approach to guide child behavior.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Pass a criminal record check and Department of Human Services (DHS) background check, and maintain enrollment in the State of Oregon Criminal History Registry.
- Possess a valid First Aid/CPR certification and Food Handlers card, or the ability to obtain these within 60 days of employment.
