Surgical Recovery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Recovery Nurse to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Surgical Recovery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
Responsibilities:- Monitor patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs.
- Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
- Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
- Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
- Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
- Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer questions.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of two years of current RN PACU experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program.
- Active unencumbered RN New York state license.
- One year of Epic experience.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
