Job Title: Medical Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Brockton Hospital in Brockton, MA.

About the Job

This is a full-time flex position with varied shifts, including Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining patient flow by escorting patients to examination rooms and assisting with the management of patient flow to minimize wait times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain patient flow by escorting patients from the waiting area to examination rooms.
  • Assist with ongoing management of patient flow by prioritizing based on patient needs and ensuring efficient room utilization.
  • Prepare patients for visits, examinations, procedures, and treatments according to established procedures.
  • Obtain vital signs per protocol and document the reason for the visit based on information received from patients.
  • Assess patient acuity and inform physicians and licensed providers of urgent or emergent patient needs.
  • Educate patients regarding care and prevention of illness and injury within the scope of nursing practice standards.
  • Document patient information in electronic medical records.
  • Assist physicians and licensed providers with medical and surgical procedures according to established protocols.
  • Participate in urgent and emergent medical situations, including obtaining and operating medical equipment according to established procedures.
  • Assist in collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.
  • Perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
  • Support patient-centered medical home model by promoting accessible, continuous, comprehensive, family-centered, coordinated, compassionate, and culturally effective primary care.
  • Fulfill other duties assigned by Practice Manager/Director/Director of Nursing.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers completion.
  • One-two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.
  • Meditech experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
