Dietary Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aid to join our team at Festus Manor Nursing Center. As a Dietary Aid, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by assisting in the delivery of dietary services.

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food items, including setting up trays and washing tableware and cooking utensils.
• Perform general cleaning tasks, such as sanitizing food carts and dishwashing counters, and maintaining a clean dishwashing area.
• Log and record wash/rinse temperatures, and neatly arrange tray and/or table settings with proper tableware, condiments, and tray cards.
• Perform various food preparation tasks, and assist in apportioning servings.
• Prepare and serve beverages per recipe, and clean beverage dispensers according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Perform other cleaning tasks according to established schedules, and maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
• Deliver soiled linens to laundry, and identify and correct safety hazards.
• Fill orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned, and wrap flatware in napkins as applicable.
• Set up trays for meals, placing napkin, flatware, condiments, straws, and diet cards on trays, and wipe dining tables following meals.
• Maintain daily care of dishwasher and dishwashing area, lavatory and sink, salad work table, dish storage cabinet, and food carts.
• Empty trash cans daily and clean them thoroughly, replacing liners and returning cans to stations.
• Assist with care of floors in department by sweeping and/or mopping at a time when food is not being prepared or served.

• Experience in food service and using food service equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
