Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook II to join our team at Golden Nugget. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to menu specifications and guest requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food according to established recipes and plate specifications
  • Inspect equipment, ingredients, and produce to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain inventory levels and order stock as needed
  • Ensure proper product rotation, storage, and quantity controls
  • Apply established safety and sanitation procedures consistently
  • Assist other kitchen stations as necessary
  • Read, decipher, and execute cooking procedures and plate presentation based on established recipes and plate specifications
  • Work closely with stewarding to resolve operational issues
  • Establish par levels for ingredients and dishes, and communicate with Sous Chef and FOH manager
Requirements
  • Minimum age requirement is 18
  • 1 year experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Food handler's card (HLTH card) and any other certification or license required by law or policy
  • Possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide specific to position responsibilities
  • Available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
