Overview:

Every role within an organization is vital. A custodian plays a crucial part in upholding the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of facilities, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and individuals can focus on their tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and waxing floors.
  • Utilize machines for carpet cleaning.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walls, vents, furniture, and other interior fixtures.
  • Wash windows and glass doors, both interior and exterior.
  • Ensure entryways are clean and free of debris.
  • Sanitize restrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
  • Change light bulbs as needed.
  • Report maintenance needs to management.
  • Clear snow and ice from designated areas.
  • Organize custodial supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in setting up for special events as directed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions relevant to the position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Capable of walking for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders and stairs as required.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
