About the Role

SI Engineering, P.C. is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager - Rail/Transit to support various MTA C&D transit construction projects. This position will be responsible for auditing safety on the project and ensuring compliance with contract specifications, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety audits of projects and generate reports with findings and photos
  • Review safety plans and submittals
  • Review incidents and incident reports
  • Participate in project meetings
  • Review contractor schedules and payments
  • Conduct constructability review
  • Coordinate with MTA and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in safety management for infrastructure projects
  • Experience with design-build and design-bid-build projects
  • Experience with MTA C&D (including NYCT, LIRR, MNR), Amtrak, NJ Transit, and PANYNJ
  • Excellent communication skills and work ethic
  • MNR Contractor Safety Training
  • Site Safety Manager Course
  • OSHA 30 (OSHA 500 desirable)
  • CSP, CHST or other formal safety certifications preferred
  • NYCT Track Training
