Surgical Tech Opportunity at Southern Surgery Center

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to join our team at Southern Surgery Center. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a scrub person for surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and maintaining a clean and organized operating room environment.

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery, assembling surgical packs, supplies, and instruments as needed.

• Count and verify instruments, needles, and sponges with the registered nurse, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

• Inventory and monitor instruments, sponges, and needles on the operative field, adjusting instrumentation and supplies as needed.

• Anticipate the surgeon's needs, assisting with draping patients, holding and passing instruments, retractors, sutures, and medications, and applying surgical dressings.

• Participate in resolving problems and adjusting priorities as needed.

• Maintain aseptic techniques, reporting and correcting breaks in sterile technique immediately, and controlling the location of contaminated instruments and supplies.

• Restock operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, and apprise the supervisor of special requests for surgical supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited School for Surgical Technology

• Orthopedic experience preferred, but not required

Work Schedule:

PRN shifts available, hours may vary. No on-call. No weekends.
