Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory levels and minimizing stock-outs by effectively utilizing software to align purchasing with current business needs and objectives. This position is also responsible for administrative duties in support of the sales and office teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with cross-functional business partners and external vendors/suppliers.
  • Analyzing reports and purchasing software systems data to ensure most efficient purchasing processes; make purchasing decisions based on the analysis of reporting and forecasting.
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels and initiating warehouse transfers to balance inventory within all locations.
  • Reviewing buying reports to maintain inventory levels, make effective purchasing decisions and to ensure department meets or exceeds KPIs and to maintain company standards for fill rate, inventory levels, and budget turns.
  • Efficiently maintaining accurate ordering parameters, supplier and item information throughout all databases.
  • Creating, maintaining, and expediting vendor purchase orders.
  • Collaborating with category/purchasing managers to ensure accurate and timely purchasing to account for ads, new items and promotional opportunities.
  • Administrative work in support of the sales team and office staff.
  • General office duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Must have 1-2 years of experience with replenishment and forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and planning software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
