Facility Housekeeper Role Overview

The Facility Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting environment at U-Haul facilities. This role involves sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, and mopping storage units, hallways, restrooms, and elevators. Additionally, the Facility Housekeeper will dispose of trash, maintain and track cleaning supply inventory, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide thorough cleaning services for storage units, hallways, restrooms, and elevators
  • Dispose of trash and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Maintain and track cleaning supply inventory, requesting supplies as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:
  • Organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of remaining stationary, moving around outdoors, positioning oneself to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50lbs assisted or unassisted.
