About the Role

PPL Electric is seeking a highly skilled System Operator to join our team. As a System Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and control the status of transmission, distribution, and substation equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Prepare and analyze load transfers on both distribution and transmission systems to prevent overload damage and restore customer load in a timely manner.
  • Enhance the accuracy of operational tools through the revision of primary operating maps, static map boards, computer models, and Operating Instructions.
  • Execute Emergency Load Control Procedures to maintain system integrity under emergency conditions.
  • Direct certain activities of Distribution Operations, Relay Test, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
  • Experience in the theory and application of basic electrical principles
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
