We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Urology Assistant to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Urology Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the urology department by assisting with various tasks and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Urology Procedures: Assist urologists with procedures, including prepping patients, setting up equipment, and maintaining asepsis.
- Prepare Procedural Fields: Prepare procedural fields with sterile supplies, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Handle Equipment and Supplies: Safely handle and maintain equipment, including sterilization and disinfection of instruments.
- Monitor Patient Safety: Continuously monitor patient safety, exercising aseptic techniques and preventing hazards related to the environment and equipment.
- Participate in Universal Protocol: Participate in Universal Protocol, ensuring correct patient, site, and timeout procedures.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, including storing and rotating instrument trays, and opening sterile supplies.
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Experience: Outpatient Urology experience preferred, EPIC Ambulatory experience preferred, and two years of direct patient contact preferred.
- Licensure: Certified Nurses Assistant, Medical Assistant, or other equivalent (medical assistant, student nurse who has completed one semester of clinical experience). BLS
- Special Skills: Assists in urologic procedures, maintains sterility, uses Trophon for HLD, and communicates with patients, staff, and MDs in a confident and clear manner.
Walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
