Culinary Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at CentraState Healthcare System. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents and employees. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities:

Obtain necessary supplies from storage areas to complete daily assignments.
Ensure standardized recipes are used in preparation of all menu items.
Inspect and taste food for quality, presentation, and adherence to menu.
Work closely with the chef/senior cook in preparation and blast chilling of foods.
Prepare food for special functions.
Assist with inventory and projected orders, prepares and places food and supply orders as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Two years culinary school or professional cooking experience, preferably within healthcare.
Basic command of English language (speaking, reading, writing) and basic math skills required to ensure correct performance of duties, understanding and following instructions, dietary restrictions, etc. for patient, resident and employee safety.
Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and customers.
Must be able to adapt to circumstances that arise and be able to make decisions quickly to problem solve any issues that may develop.
