Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting departmental project managers by taking responsibility for electrical engineering and project-related activities. This includes defining and implementing large and mid-sized CAPEX projects, generating budgets, creating project-specific electrical scopes of work, and overseeing in-house and outsourced engineering design services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support departmental project managers by taking responsibility for electrical engineering and project-related activities.
  • Define and implement large and mid-sized CAPEX projects, including electrical power distribution, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Generate budgets for electrical projects and create project-specific electrical scopes of work.
  • Oversee in-house and outsourced engineering design services, including specifying, procuring, and purchasing electrical power distribution and control/instrumentation equipment.
  • Assist in project status reviews and oversight, focusing on quality, budget, schedule, and cost control forecasting.
  • Generate monthly project reports for upper management review and update monthly job accounting reports for projects assigned.
  • Travel to plant sites to attend project meetings and offer project oversight and technical support as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • At least eight (8) years of electrical experience in industrial power distribution projects, with a preference for experience in the cement or minerals industries.
  • Strong working history and interest in industrial electrical power distribution systems and motor applications.
  • Knowledge of large industrial motors and associated motor control is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Schedule) is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SKM Power system Study software is preferred but not required.
  • Good inter-personal communication, verbal, and written skills (English Language) are required.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical engineering design, construction methodology, and construction execution are required.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and supporting multiple projects concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of the NFPA 70 NEC National Electrical Code, NPFA 70E, and other Industry accepted Electrical Standards (IEEE, IAS, NEMA, UL, etc.) is required.
  • MSHA Safety certification is preferred but not required. Training will be provided if necessary.
