Overview:


Under minimal oversight, delivers nursing care to designated patients by employing the nursing process and adhering to the established standards within the nursing division.

The registered nurse is responsible for their nursing practice and the patients assigned to them, serving as an advocate for both patients and their families.

Complies with the principles of Service Excellence Guiding Behaviors and the mission and philosophy of Trinity Health in all aspects of job performance.

Full-time (36 hours), three (3) shifts weekly, twelve (12) hour shifts

Responsibilities:


Exhibits the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with Trinity Health standards.

Assesses components of a comprehensive evaluation to determine patients' overall health status continuously.


Using the nursing process, identifies actual and potential issues and formulates and executes the care plan tailored to the age of the patient population within the department/unit scope of service, in line with departmental standards.

Initiates and updates the care plan regularly. Begins the Initial Plan of Care (IPOC) within 4 hours of admission.

Maintains concurrent, accurate, and clear documentation in the medical record in accordance with hospital policies.

Implements nursing interventions and modifies care based on changes in patient condition, consultations with other professionals, and patient/family needs.

Recognizes actual and potential risks and takes appropriate measures to minimize or avert situations, evaluating the outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a registered nurse holding current licensure as defined by the Interstate Compact. A senior-level nursing student from an accredited nursing program may apply.

All registered nurses hired after a specified date are required to obtain a BSN degree within four years of hire.


A senior-level nursing student may be appointed to an RN Bargaining Unit position and may commence employment as a Nurse Graduate, following successful graduation from an accredited ADN and/or BSN program until a valid RN license is secured.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required, to be obtained within three months of the start date.

Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.

Exhibits a high level of professionalism, positively enhancing the image of Trinity Health.

Actively engages and represents Trinity Health in professional and community organizations.

Must possess a general working knowledge of computers and department-specific software (i.e., Healthstream, internet, etc.)
