TAXATION SUPERVISOR

The Supervisor is accountable for the efficient, precise, comprehensive, and timely preparation of all clients' tax filings. The Supervisor makes determinations on all but the most exceptional tax scenarios.


Key Responsibilities:

Conducts technical tax reviews and approvals of all tax filings and governmental tax audits of any complexity.

Takes full ownership of larger tax filings and delegates tasks to various tax preparers as necessary.

Exhibits extensive knowledge and expertise in advanced technical skills essential for advising clients.

Handles all tasks related to client service and ensures that assignments are completed within the allocated time.

Actively participates in client meetings and tax planning initiatives to support the Auditing and Accounting Department with larger clients.

Serves as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff on specific tax matters and inquiries.

Takes on tax preparation responsibilities for more intricate business filings.


Assumes client service responsibilities for clients the Taxation Supervisor directly collaborates with or clients where the responsibility is delegated from the Partner.

Communicates significant tax developments affecting the firm's clients to the appropriate personnel.

Oversees and manages governmental tax audits; may represent the client before relevant tax authorities.


Ensures a smooth flow of tax filings through the preparation system to guarantee accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery of all clients' tax filings.

Adheres to accurate and timely billing and collection processes.

Engages in firm practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.

Supervisory

Leadership Responsibilities:

Accountable for the development, coaching, and training of Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.


Must be knowledgeable about the qualifications of all Tax staff members to address their training needs effectively.

Participates in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.

Requirements

Qualifications:


At least five to seven years of experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.

Minimum one (1) year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.

Bachelor's degree in accounting is required, with a master's degree in taxation preferred.

A current and valid certified public accountant's license is mandatory.
