Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Field Engineer to join our team at Eversource Energy. As a key member of our Technical Field Engineering department, you will play a critical role in planning, executing, and overseeing technical work activities, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our substation and electric field systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and lead technical planning, maintenance, repair, and project activities within the Technical Field Engineering department.
  • Support North and South Field Engineering and Field Communications workgroups in technical needs, establishing schedules and directing assigned staff.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for Field Engineers and Power System Technicians, focusing on safety, technical skills, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Union Field Engineers and Power System Technicians on infrequently performed work and new work practices, ensuring safety and human performance.
  • Monitor equipment in-service, review settings, and track test equipment, repairs, and calibrations to ensure readiness for use.
  • Identify common problems with test equipment and recommend corrective actions or replacement programs.
  • Track and oversee IFC prints for construction and As Built prints received for deployment.
  • Support supervision with coordination of technical training activities and ensure compliance with Eversource safety manual and company procedures.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates, oral and written, for successful completion of assigned work and maintain open communication with supervision and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid motor vehicle license with good driving record.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to operate various software programs relating to databases, test equipment, and hardware configuration.
  • Ability to continuously develop knowledge of installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of applicable substation and electric field systems assigned to the hiring manager.
