We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at Aloft Newport on the Levee, a vibrant restaurant located in the heart of Newport on the Levee Entertainment district. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to order, ensuring high-quality presentation and adhering to standard recipes.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare food orders on the line by cooking items to order, grilling, broiling, sautéing, and meeting all presentation guidelines and following standard recipes.
- Interact with visitors, vendors, and associates while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Recognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste management.
- Assemble a system of food stations and fill them with everything they need for the shift.
- Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and other team members.
- Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage.
- We prefer some experience working in the food service industry.
- Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic.
