Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, using clinical reasoning and best practices to inform care planning and goal setting.
- Participate in evaluating nursing practice effectiveness and quality, reviewing and examining specific indicators in nursing.
- Create a caring, safe, and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Manage pain, promote comfort, and minimize suffering for patients.
- Facilitate education for patients, families, nurses, and other healthcare team members, as well as the community.
- Work collaboratively with others to implement care plans under RN/provider direction, including team members and community.
- Employ strategies and utilize available resources to solve problems for patients, their families, and staff.
Requirements
- A thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations established by certifying bodies affecting nursing care delivery in the field.
- Familiarity with medical terms, health promotion methods, risk reduction techniques, disease prevention and management practices, medications, and their potential effects.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling clear expression of thoughts both orally and in writing.
- Superb interpersonal skills to foster interactions with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
- Capacity to identify and communicate any changes in a patient's medical condition to other nurses and healthcare providers.
- The ability to provide good care to patients of all ages, while honoring each person's unique experiences.
- Basic computer literacy, encompassing Microsoft Office, information security protocols, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical record maintenance, and email usage.
