At Sterling Engineering, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This is a direct hire role working 1st shift with a competitive hourly rate of up to $40.

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art recycling facility. Your expertise in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, conveyors, balers, shredders, and other industrial machinery will be vital to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial machinery to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with managers, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate extensive repairs and ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform comprehensive repair work, including hydraulic, electronic/electrical, mechanical, and basic fabrication tasks, as well as preventive maintenance.
  • Meticulously document repairs and maintenance activities through detailed work order reports.
  • Identify and source necessary parts and equipment replacements, leveraging computer and internet resources.
  • Demonstrate versatility by working in various positions, including kneeling, bending, crouching, and operating elevated lifts for extended periods.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to all safety requirements and leading by example in promoting a safe work environment.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work various shifts as needed to support operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in industrial troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment or in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to balance team and individual responsibilities while building consensus.
  • Unwavering commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and upholding organizational values.
  • Possession of personal basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
