About the Role

The Fleet Mechanic 2 is a critical member of our Operations team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet equipment. As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, including class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of our fleet equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic malfunctions on a variety of heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, and material handling equipment.
  • Emergency Roadside Services: Provide emergency roadside assistance as needed, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet operations.
  • Inventory Management: Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and manage stock inventory to ensure efficient maintenance operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete electronic work orders, ensuring all information is recorded in our computerized maintenance system.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist team members with troubleshooting and repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and company safety policies.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Minimum age of 18 years old, high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three years' related experience and/or training.
  • CDL and Safety Certifications: Class A CDL preferred, personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with company safety policies.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty, and material handling equipment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to read, write, and speak English, maintain a neat professional appearance, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs.
