Lawrence Township Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Security Monitor to join our team for the 2024-25 School Year.

As a Substitute Security Monitor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students and staff. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and community service.

About the Job

This is a substitute position, which means you will be assigned to various schools within the district on an as-needed basis. As a Substitute Security Monitor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring school premises to prevent vandalism, theft, and other safety issues
  • Providing assistance to students, teachers, and staff during emergency situations
  • Maintaining order and discipline among students
  • Assisting with crowd control and supervision of events

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must possess:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public
  • Experience in security/surveillance is preferred, but not required
  • A clear criminal background check through NJDOE
  • A current TB test, no more than six months old
  • Completion of GCN tutorials for 'Substitute Security'

Salary and Benefits

As a Substitute Security Monitor, you can expect a competitive hourly rate:

  • Substitute daily assignments: $16.00 per hour
  • Supplemental assignments: $31.24 per hour
