Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recovery Mentor to join our team at WVFSRS.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a bonus based on performance, competitive salary, paid time off, training & development opportunities, and more.

Job Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse. As a Recovery Mentor, you will use your own life-altering experiences to guide and support others, serving as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting individuals with recovery planning, relapse prevention, housing needs, and education/employment
  • Facilitating the transition from a professionally directed service plan to a self-directed recovery plan for clients
  • Providing a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible
  • Supporting connections to community-based mutual self-help groups and linking individuals to appropriate professional resources when needed
Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of two years of personal recovery experience and involvement with a personal support and/or recovery system
  • A valid driver's license and auto insurance (preferred)
Preferred Skills

In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Resourcefulness, independence, and critical thinking skills
Certifications & Training

You will be required to complete various certifications and training programs prior to your start date, including HIPAA, Adult CPR-First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and CPI validation within 30 days of employment.
