Yard Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Yard Associate to join our team at R.P. Lumber Co. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and clean work environment, and participating in delivery operations.

• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, ensuring a positive experience.
• Load and unload materials, including merchandise and equipment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Operate a forklift to merchandise and stock the yard and warehouse, adhering to safety protocols.
• Build loads and prepare materials for delivery, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
• Assist truck drivers in delivering merchandise to customers, utilizing company equipment.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain inventory, product displays, and pricing labels within assigned areas, adhering to merchandising standards.
• Enforce all safety rules and policies, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

• Forklift experience preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Ability to follow safety expectations and company policies.
• Regular, reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction industry is a plus, but not required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of prior related work experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

• This role requires sitting, standing, bending, and walking throughout the day.
• The physical demands of the position require the ability to lift and move materials, up to 50-100 pounds, and work in various weather conditions.
