Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Developer/Instructional Designer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. This is a unique opportunity to work with faculty members to design, develop, and deliver high-quality courses and programs that promote excellence and innovation in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver faculty development programs and services to support teaching and learning in all modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online)
  • Collaborate with campus and college staff to develop and implement comprehensive programs and services that promote excellence and innovation in teaching and learning
  • Provide consultation and development for faculty in the design of course and program curricula and pedagogies in all instructional modalities
  • Design and supervise the production of learning resources in various formats to support curriculum development and learning-centered course design
  • Support academic departments in the exploration and development of innovative teaching and learning strategies and materials
  • Research, articulate, and disseminate innovative best practices in faculty development, teaching, learning, and technology
  • Develop and implement ongoing program assessment to understand the program's strengths and weaknesses and to establish a model of evidence-based program improvement
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Progressively responsible experience teaching in a higher education setting or commensurate experience
  • Experience in instructional design methodologies and course and curriculum design in all modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online)
  • Knowledge of learning theories, teaching and learning literature, and research and scholarship methodologies in teaching and learning
  • Strong knowledge of pedagogy and effective teaching practices in online and hybrid courses
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and to collaborate/consult with faculty and staff from a variety of backgrounds
Working Conditions

This is a professional office environment with occasional travel to campus and college sites. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment and may be exposed to elements including wet/humid weather, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors.
