Job Summary

The MRI Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process, working independently to perform complex procedures and utilize advanced imaging equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex MRI exams, utilizing state-of-the-art computerized imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in MRI procedures, exams, and the use of pressurized injection equipment.
  • Assist radiologists in invasive and biopsy-type procedures, utilizing MRI equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Program the computer to ensure completion of exams and store scan data correctly on PACS for future reference.
  • Coordinate and prioritize procedures to maintain high levels of patient care and continuity.
  • Ensure accurate coding and entry of charges in the billing system.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the Core values of Christus Health.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical imaging setting highly preferred.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification from ARRT or ARMRIT preferred.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
