As the Engineering Manager for Core Experience at Tinder, you will play a pivotal role in steering a talented team responsible for developing and enhancing user-centric features within the Tinder application. This position offers the chance to lead a group of up to 8 Android engineers, focusing on essential functionalities that enhance user interaction and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of Android engineers dedicated to creating impactful features that enhance the user experience for millions worldwide.
  • Establish and manage platform goals and key performance indicators, crafting a strategic vision for your team.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement the strategic plan, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and design reviews to define project requirements and scope.
  • Set the technical direction for the team and guide them in achieving set objectives.
  • Mentor and support team members in their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in developing native Android applications.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing mobile engineering teams.
  • Proficient in Kotlin, with a solid understanding of advanced programming concepts.
  • Familiar with architectural patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, MVI, and RIBs.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams to successfully deliver large-scale mobile applications.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Able to inspire and motivate team members to achieve exceptional results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both Android and iOS development.
  • Background in developing consumer-facing applications with frequent updates.
  • Familiarity with modern build tools and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience with contemporary UI frameworks such as SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose.
  • Ability to work with legacy code and implement effective improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience collaborating within small teams while engaging with a broader cross-functional organization.
