Role Overview:
Children's Land of Grayslake is a state-of-the-art childcare facility dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for infants to kindergartners. We are seeking an experienced Preschool Education Assistant to join our team and contribute to creating a dynamic learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. • Develop and implement engaging thematic educational activities that meet high-quality standards, in collaboration with the teaching team.
  1. • Support the assessment of each child's development, tailoring the curriculum to meet diverse needs and promote individual growth.
  1. • Foster a warm and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and socialization, ensuring children feel secure and valued.
  1. • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their children's progress and daily activities.
  1. • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices.
  1. • Assist in managing classroom resources, ensuring all materials are readily available and well-maintained to support learning.
  1. • Continuously monitor children to ensure their safety and well-being, intervening promptly when necessary.
  1. • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and effective learning environment, promoting teamwork and mutual respect.

Qualifications:
  1. • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred for career advancement opportunities.
  1. • At least 1 year of experience in assisting with teaching children in a preschool or similar setting, preferably in a state-licensed facility like Children's Land of Grayslake.
  1. • Current CPR and First Aid certification is highly recommended for this role, as we prioritize the health and safety of our children.
  1. • Familiarity with educational and safety regulations in childcare is essential for maintaining compliance and upholding our standards of excellence.
  1. • Demonstrable understanding of diverse educational methods and practices, including thematic learning and play-based approaches.
  1. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and nurturing, to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  1. • Physical ability to engage actively with children, participating in play and activities while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
