Job Description:

As a Paraprofessional with ProCare Therapy, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their behavior intervention plans in a collaborative school setting. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with lessons, adapting materials for students with special needs, encouraging participation, providing personal care as needed, and tracking progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Classroom Activities: Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment. Adapt teaching materials to meet the individual needs of students with special needs.
  • Encourage Participation: Help students stay engaged and motivated through positive reinforcement techniques and creative strategies.
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist students with mobility, hygiene, or feeding as needed, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  • Track Progress: Observe and document student progress, sharing updates with teachers and other relevant staff members.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some roles may require additional coursework.
  • Certification: May need certification or to pass a qualifying exam.
  • Experience: Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is preferred.
  • Skills: Good communication, patience, and organizational skills are essential.
