Job Responsibilities
The Operating Room Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering surgical patient care by:
- Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Serving as a patient educator and providing support throughout the surgical process.
- Functioning as a circulating nurse, managing the operating suite environment while remaining outside the sterile field.
- Handling and preparing surgical instruments and equipment as a scrub nurse within the sterile field.
Qualifications
- A minimum of eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Surgery setting.
- Possession of an active RN license.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Additional requirements as specified by the client facility.
