Job Summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to join our team at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wausau. As a PRN Pharmacist, you will work as-needed during facility hours and be on-call to provide expert care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders for medications using our pharmacy information system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant and efficient operations, providing guidance on complex prescriptions and pharmacy automation systems.
  • Adjust dosages based on established protocols, considering patient condition and other medications being used.
  • Educate patients on proper medication use, especially when using multiple medications or being discharged.
  • Manage narcotics and inventory control, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
  • Collaborate with Nurses and Physicians to verify orders and obtain additional information.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining accreditation and implementing operational changes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
  • Must be a licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the state of Wisconsin or able to obtain licensure.
  • In-patient/hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • IV experience preferred.
  • Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
  • Ability to work on call or be in an on-call rotation.

  • Competitive hourly rate: $48.70 - $69.60 per hour.
