Job Description:

We are seeking a Graduate-level Systems Cost and Schedule Engineer Intern to join our team in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA. As a member of our Systems Engineering Division (SED), you will provide unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and various public and private agencies.

Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing cost and technical data to assess credibility of government and industry cost and schedule estimates, conducting research and analysis of schedule and technical data, and developing schedule assessments to support the government in the procurement of cost-effective systems.

You will also participate in Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis, evaluation of contractor cost activities, and concurrent engineering studies. Additionally, you will utilize industry tools to develop and/or evaluate Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), conduct Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs), structural integrity analyses, and identification/quantification of program risks.

You will work closely with mentors and senior staff in the development of cost and schedule methods and models, supporting cost research activities, developing historical databases, and providing recommendations through technical analyses.

Documenting your analysis and presenting technical, cost, and programmatic data/findings to peers, management, and customers will be a key responsibility.

Salary: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour, Pay Basis: HourlyRequirements:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Aerospace or Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Undergraduate degree completed by internship start date.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficiency in using MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis functions).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Although a security clearance is not required for the intern position, it would be required if a full-time position were offered at the conclusion of the internship.
