Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full scope of clinical patient care and services, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventative care, and health maintenance to patients at UF Health Regional Network clinical sites. This will involve working collaboratively with members of the healthcare team, reviewing incoming reports, prescribing pharmaceuticals, and referring patients to specialists as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment.
- Work collaboratively with members of the healthcare team, including pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.
- Review incoming reports, such as lab results, x-rays, and EKGs, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as needed.
- Manage the daily operations of a specific medical program or patient care unit.
- Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical and operational meetings as requested.
To be considered for this role, you must have a medical degree and be licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes. Additionally, you should have at least four years of experience in a relevant field, with completion of a residency program may substituting for the required experience. Board certification or eligibility in a specified area of medical specialty is also preferred.
