Drydock Mechanic Job Description

Hutco, Inc. is seeking a skilled Drydock Mechanic to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Drydock Mechanic to work in our Norfolk, VA location. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to ship repair and maintenance, including equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment installation, repair, and maintenance tasks in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Use various tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field, such as ship repair or maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions.
