Packaging Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Packaging Specialist to join our team at Kentucky Trailer. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing products for shipment and ensuring they are securely packed to prevent damage during transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pack products into boxes or containers according to specifications and guidelines.
- Inspect items for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before packaging.
- Properly label packages with shipping information, product codes, and instructions as per guidelines.
- Assist with tracking inventory levels and report any discrepancies.
- Operate packaging machinery and tools, ensuring they are maintained and in good working order.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of packaged items and prepare reports as needed.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in packaging or a warehouse environment is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, interpret documents, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible based on the workload in remanufacturing department.
- Sense of urgency, focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
- Comfortable using mechanized devices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working off ladders or platforms.
- No restrictions on wearing safety footwear, protective eyewear, or required PPE.
