Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for the management, support, and optimization of cloud resources and devices monitored by Logicalis Managed Services. This role provides advanced engineering and support for Azure and Microsoft server technologies. The engineer will create operational and technical cloud protocols to meet both Logicalis and client expectations. Additionally, the position focuses on identifying automation opportunities within public cloud platforms while ensuring technical security through established infrastructure processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possesses a strong understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles and adheres to established ITIL incident, problem, and change management protocols for each client when addressing requests or outages.
  • Responsible for managing the following within the Digital Service Platform (DSP):
    • Request Items
    • Problems
    • Changes
    • Projects
    • Tasks
    • Recommendations
  • Serves as an escalation point for Tier 2 Administrators, guiding team members in resolving incidents, problems, and change requests, as well as providing project direction.
  • Collaborates with clients and colleagues in a professional manner to ensure efficient issue resolution.
  • Partners with Managed Services architects to develop innovative service offerings.
  • Provides training and mentorship to Tier 2 Administrators on emerging technologies and processes.
  • Creates knowledge base articles to document technical processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Conducts regular environment assessments and recommends enhancements to service offerings or system resiliency.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates gaps in client environments against defined service standards, collaborating with Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) to propose improvements.
  • Supports escalated issues by coordinating communication among operations staff and assisting in the resolution of complex challenges.
  • Coordinates service interruptions with Service Delivery Managers as needed.
  • Identifies automation opportunities and implements solutions for repetitive and predictable tasks.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation for the designated technology group.
  • Responsible for accurately tracking all work hours in designated systems.
  • Continuously seeks to enhance skills and remain informed about new technologies.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Logicalis by embodying the organization's values in all actions.

    • Providing Azure deployment and support services for IAAS or PAAS solutions.
    • Managing Windows and Linux servers in a cloud environment, including automated patching and site recovery.
    • Working with cloud-based databases such as SQL Server.
    • Implementing Azure role-based access.
    • Understanding Azure networking concepts, including WAN connectivity, hub-spoke models, NSGs, and App Gateways.
    • Managing containers in Azure cloud (Docker or Kubernetes).
    • Office 365 / Exchange / Hybrid Exchange.
    • Intune Management and Endpoint Management.
    • Building and troubleshooting Microsoft Server 2016 and later.
  • Demonstrates a reasonable technical understanding and the ability to translate technical requirements into comprehensible business concepts and vice versa.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking technologies and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience in supporting large-scale projects:
    • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform).
    • Automation tools (Chef, Puppet, SCCM, Ansible).
    • Cloud tools (Azure Resource Manager, Azure Command Line, Azure Security Center, Azure Automation, Azure Update Manager).
    • Virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and vSphere.
    • Operating system management, hardening, and standards for Windows and Linux.
    • Application and web server management, hardening, and security for Apache, IIS, SQL, and Oracle databases.
    • Security compliance experience with frameworks such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001, or SOX.
  • Exposure to:
    • Software Defined Data Center (SDDC).
    • Software Defined Networking (SDN).
    • IDS/IPS reporting and defense strategies.
