Job Summary:
Highlands County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a dedicated and skilled Volunteer Firefighter to join our team. As a Volunteer Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing fire suppression and rescue services, and participating in training and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls, including structure, brush, vehicle, and trash fires, as well as medical emergencies and hazardous materials incidents.
- Participate in regular training and equipment maintenance to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other emergency responders, including law enforcement and medical personnel, to provide comprehensive emergency services.
- Conduct fire safety inspections and provide education to the public on fire prevention and safety.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Complete the application process and undergo a background check.
- Attend regular meetings and training sessions.
- Be capable of responding to emergency calls and participating in training exercises.
- Be willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
