Cargo Handler Job Description

Forward Air is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cargo Handler to join our team. As a Cargo Handler, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight on our trailers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading freight on 53 ft. commercial trailers
  • Operating scanners to track and maneuver freight through our distribution network
  • Accurately labeling boxes and preparing freight for shipment
  • Safely loading and unloading trailers using equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts
  • Verifying documentation and condition of freight to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
  • Must be 18 or older
