Job Description

BlazerJobs is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a school district setting. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the occupational therapy needs of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy interventions as outlined in individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and other team members to develop effective strategies for students' functional skills development.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and therapy goals.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
