About the Job

We are looking for a talented Wafer Metrology Senior Engineer to join our team at Seagate Technology. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and improving technical understanding of multiple metrology/test tools used in the wafer manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating and updating metrology recipes used to monitor process health.
  • Performing gage studies and participating in improvement projects to improve the capabilities of the assigned toolsets.
  • Partnering with development and production process engineers to provide metrology solutions for their control/monitoring needs.
  • Working with process and yield teams to solve current factory problems.
  • Collaborating with counterparts to deliver cross-site solutions to metrology needs.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of wafer metrology techniques.
  • Knowledge of thin-film-head or semiconductor wafer manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to work with wafer factory automation systems.
  • Ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze data using SQL, JMP & Excel.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Interest in developing skills in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Data Science.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multiple wafer metrology techniques.
  • Experience in a wafer manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred experience with wafer material characterization methods – ellipsometry, and X-ray techniques.
  • You may have experience with a scripting language such as Python.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Chem E, or Physics with 5-8 years of experience.
Estimated Salary Range

$81,536.00 - $116,604.80 per year, depending on work location and additional factors.
