Key Responsibilities
  • Direct field operations and serve as the design lead for multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Assist project managers in completing various tasks, including organizing educational sessions.
  • Ensure final quality assurance and quality control for geotechnical calculations, evaluations, and analyses.
  • Conduct site investigations to identify geotechnical challenges and gather geological data.
  • Interpret and analyze geological data from sources such as survey information, well logs, boreholes, and aerial imagery.
  • Develop scopes of work and manpower estimates for geotechnical projects as requested by various stakeholders.
  • Manage client relationships for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, and technical standards.
  • Review and provide feedback on geotechnical studies and deliverables produced by team members before client submission.
  • Draft and evaluate Geotechnical Engineering Reports for infrastructure projects, including roads and structures.
  • Create laboratory testing protocols and assess laboratory results for soil and rock samples.
  • Establish criteria and specifications for subsurface investigations.
  • Review and amend drilling logs, boring profiles, and related documentation.
  • Evaluate drilling contractor proposals and statewide contracts.
  • Assist in verifying drilling contractor quantities and invoices.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, resolve project-related issues, and attend project meetings.
  • Exhibit professional public relations skills when interacting with internal staff, clients, and the public.
  • Adhere to established project schedules and budgets.
  • Familiarize with the company’s filing system within the first week of employment.
  • Participate in company and departmental meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in professional engineering services is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities are necessary.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software, including Lpile, GSTABL, Driven, and GRLWEAP, is required.
  • Dependability, consistent attendance, and adherence to company policies are crucial.
  • Experience with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike is preferred.
  • PE Licensure in Pennsylvania is required or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity within six months.
  • A valid Pennsylvania Driver's License is mandatory.
