The HEAT Group is looking for a Social Media Engagement Intern to support the social media department in generating and curating content tailored for various platforms. This role requires a solid understanding of basketball, particularly the Miami HEAT and NBA narratives, both historical and contemporary. Candidates with experience in content development and brand representation on social media are encouraged to apply.

The selected intern will be tasked with delivering innovative and engaging ideas for Miami HEAT's social media channels, including Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat. The goal is to connect with a broader audience while maintaining engagement with the existing HEAT Nation fanbase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in documenting daily stories related to the Miami HEAT basketball team, including games, practices, and other significant events.
  • Support the creation and editing of content for various Miami HEAT social media platforms, quickly identifying opportunities for impactful moments (experience in professional photography is advantageous).
  • Help cover designated Miami HEAT and Kaseya Center events, along with other talent appearances, by providing content through social media.
  • Monitor and analyze daily social media trends, conversations, and emerging platforms that align with the Miami HEAT brand.
  • Assist the social media team with basketball-related tasks and other brand initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Social Media Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university.
  • Proficient in using Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, and other social media platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of basketball and Miami HEAT/NBA narratives, both current and historical.
  • Experience in capturing and editing content via mobile devices.
  • Deep understanding of pop culture, current events, and social media trends.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to current events.
  • Excellent writing, creative, and analytical skills.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for events and game coverage.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • Professional photography skills are a plus.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with relevant experience or training.
