Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Duke Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer oxygen, aerosolized medication, and other respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pulmonary function studies and cardiopulmonary procedures.
- Assure correct set-up, safety, and function of all equipment and supplies necessary for patient care.
- Provide education to patients, families, and healthcare teams on respiratory care and disease management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Completion of a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent) or currently enrolled in a CoARC-accredited program.
- North Carolina State Licensure or Provisional License, and Certification by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC) if graduate.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any other applicable certifications.
Duke Regional Hospital is a 388-bed community hospital located in Durham, North Carolina. We offer a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, including orthopedics, weight-loss surgery, women's services, and heart and vascular services.
Our Respiratory Care team provides services for a 22-bed ICU and a 50-bed Emergency Room, as well as medical, surgical, neurology, oncology, and cardiovascular general care areas. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing health together.
