Position Summary

The Loan Underwriting Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Underwriting Team. This position is primarily responsible for managing all essential tasks from loan approval through to funding and recording. Acting as a liaison between branch personnel and underwriters, the specialist will handle new loan submissions, organization, preparation for underwriting, conduct pre-audits, order appraisal reviews, and review conditions within their authority based on experience. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Team Lead or Underwriting Manager.

Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $18.50 to $29 per hour, depending on experience and location.

Work Environment: This role is based out of the Sacramento Corporate Office and offers a hybrid-remote or fully remote option based on experience and location. Candidates must be available to work an East Coast schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM EST.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-audit reviews on fully underwritten files as directed.
  • Order appraisal reviews as requested by underwriters.
  • Review conditions prior to documentation as directed.
  • Manage funding conditions as directed.
  • Perform loan setup, file organization, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in junior underwriting, processing, or closing, specifically with East Coast loans.
  • Familiarity with Conventional and Government loan products and condition clearance.
  • Strong understanding of the mortgage loan process and industry guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Candidates within a specified distance from the Sacramento office may be required to work a hybrid schedule.
