Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.

• Perform venipuncture and related procedures under the guidance of the Unit Supervisor.
• Collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings, including pediatric and adult populations.
• Operate laboratory equipment and maintain accurate records of blood sample collection.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure smooth and efficient blood collection processes.
• Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure timely and accurate blood sample processing.

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Excellent customer relations skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
