About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at JAG Physical Therapy, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve functional independence.

Job Summary

This position involves assessing patients' strengths and weaknesses to create effective treatment plans. You will work in a supportive environment, maintaining patient confidentiality and collaborating with healthcare teams.

The ideal candidate should have experience in Hand Therapy and a commitment to patient success through positive encouragement and clinical excellence.

You will be responsible for collecting and recording patient care data, preparing for evaluations, selecting and administering tests, and synthesizing evaluation results to formulate diagnoses, goals, and plans of care.

You will establish treatment plans based on evaluation results, goals, and best practices. You will also identify the need for consultations and/or referrals to other healthcare professionals or services.

In this role, you will provide education and training to patients and their support systems, promoting functional independence and community reintegration.

You will oversee support staff, including COTAs and OT aides, and attend annual seminars and present in-services at facilities.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy required; doctorate preferred
  • Licensed occupational therapist
  • Completed state-regulated CEU requirements in NY and NJ
  • Valid CPR license
  • Experience/knowledge with EMR software preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills
  • 1+ year professional OT experience
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work as a team member and individually with minimal supervision
