Source Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Source Inspector to join our team at Kaman Specialty Bearings & Engineered Products in Bloomfield, CT. As a leader in the design and manufacture of high technology mechanical products, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality and service to our customers.
This is a first shift position with a regular schedule of 6AM - 3:30PM, with one hour of mandatory overtime at the front end of shift to meet a 45 hour workweek. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 in a week.
As a Source Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining up-to-date customer and industry certification and training for DSQR delegation.
- Preparing products and related paperwork for presentation to customers or source inspection as a Designated Supplier Quality Representative.
- Ensuring customer purchase order requirements have been met and authorizing shipment of products.
- Supporting internal, operator, and process audits as required.
- Performing visual and dimensional inspection of mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance.
- Identifying defects in surface, dimensional, visual, and non-conformities to blueprints and Kamatics' quality standards.
- Using conventional and advanced inspection gages and devices to verify dimensions to drawing specifications.
- Maintaining records, data, and logs as necessary, and creating inspection forms such as IMS and first article forms.
- Navigating computer files and software to acquire necessary items for inspection and verification.
- Providing leadership and training as needed, and ensuring that production schedules are met.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and following safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
