About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Lead to join our team at Sam's Club. As a Meat Department Lead, you will be responsible for driving sales in your area and supervising a team of hourly associates to deliver exceptional customer service and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of meat products, including boneless and bone-in products, and ensure that the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance.
  • Operational Excellence: Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide necessary skills to deliver high-quality products to customers. Encourage career growth for team members and source new talent internally and externally to work on the team.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. Explain, guide, and demonstrate how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member's expectations. Communicate effectively with associates, managers, and customers to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • 6 months experience in a meat production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Meat processing experience, including boneless and bone-in products.
  • Supervising associates experience.
  • Food Handler Certification (Food Safety) - Certification.
