Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team at Pearle Vision. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care through proper diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prescribe medications, spectacle lenses, and contact lenses to patients, taking into account their visual needs and lifestyle.
- Counsel patients regarding surgical and non-surgical options that meet their visual needs, providing advice and reassurance on vision-related matters.
- Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, and provide treatment, including prescribing therapeutic drugs for specific eye conditions.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to patients, ensuring accurate prescriptions and optimal vision correction.
- Diagnose eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and conjunctivitis, and prescribe medications as needed.
- Participate in pre- or post-operative care for patients undergoing surgery, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
- Effectively communicate with patients to gather detailed case histories and provide clear explanations of treatment options.
- Meet sales targets for spectacles or contact lenses, working closely with the optical team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Successful completion of the National Board examination and a National, Regional, or State clinical examination.
- Strong business acumen and self-discipline, with the ability to deal tactfully with patients.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
